    As of 11th July 2020- 12,322,395 people have been affected by COVID-19 worldwide. About 556,335 lives have been lost. (Source: WHO)

    SAARC region comprises of over 21% of the world's population which remains vulnerable towards COVID-19. The Member States have reported 13,35,881 cases, a total of 31,213 deaths in the region, and 813,225 recovered cases.

    India: Hon’ble Prime Minister, yesterday reviewed the COVID 19 situation in the country.

    • The Prime Minister directed that we must reiterate the need to observe personal hygiene and social discipline in public places.
    • He appreciated the concerted efforts of the Centre, State and local authorities in containing the pandemic situation in Delhi.
    • The successful example of surveillance and home based care through ‘Dhanvantri Rath’ in Ahmedabad was highlighted and it was directed that it may be emulated in other places. (Source: pib.gov.in)
