    As of 30th March 2020- 693,224 people have been affected by COVID-19 worldwide. About 33,106 lives have been lost. (Source: WHO)

    SAARC region comprises of over 21% of the world's population which remains vulnerable towards COVID-19. The Member States have reported 3,648 cases and a total of 71 deaths in the region.

    Prime Minister of India held a videoconference with the Heads of all of India’s Embassies and High Commissions worldwide to discuss responses to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

    • Heads of Mission also reported lessons learned in other countries, and their best practices, in the global fight against COVID-19.
    • In our neighbourhood, Heads of Mission underlined measures to assist the national responses of those countries, using the special fund created at India’s initiative for SAARC countries to combat COVID-19. (Source: pib.gov.in)
